Application Fee Waiver at RIT 2010
Do we have any Seniors applying to RIT? I’ve talked to the alumni office, and they have approved me to be able to offer a couple of admission fee waivers to FIRST students every year. This will waive the $50 application fee.
The deadline for the waiver was Feb 1st, but I’m trying to get an extension. If anyone is applying to RIT, please let me know right away!
Thanks!
Kate

Check Presentation to Golisano Children’s Hospital 2010
We recently visited the Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of
Rochester Medical Center to demo our robot and also present the check for all the funds we collected. We also delivered books and assorted legos for the children’s use.
The hospital was very grateful. They created a Facebook album about the visit and added a photo of the check presentation on their Caught Doing Something Good slide show

Forms for Finger Lakes Regional 2010
Each student team member will need to download, fill out, and return a Field Trip Permission Slip to attend the regional competition. I also need a FIRST Consent and Release Form specifically for the regional from every team member. You do not need to fill one out if you completed the online Consent and Release Form. These are due to Mr. Rees by Monday March 1, 2010. If I do not have the forms, you do not travel.
National Anthem at FLR 2010
Hey everyone! Just thought that I should share that Lydia, Christa, Juliana and Kat will be singing the National Anthem one of the days at FLR (hopefully Friday!) So make sure you all sing loudly too to help us show support for our country and how great 340 is.
Thanks!
Rookie Programming Experiance 2010
This is my first year on the team, and I’ve had a lot of fun learning how to program. When I was writing my first real code, I connected to the robot and it wouldn’t run. After 20 minutes of trying to figure out what was wrong in the code, John Lawniczak helped me realize the exclamation point that was staring me in the face.
THE CRATE 2010
Ok, so after many hours of writing and editing chairman’s, the marketing team (i.e. Juliana and I) decided we needed a break and so took it upon ourselves to create the design for painting the crate. Well, it has been finished!!!
A new addition to this year’s crate design was the WALL OF FAME or, a nice blank side for the team to sign on. Oh, and of course there’s tiger bunny:-) So, if everyone would like to sign it before it gets shipped off, maybe add a funny quote or inside joke from the year, have at it! All within good reason of course….
Just one more thing. Kindly keep all writing at least 5 inches away from tiger bunny just so when we re-paint that side next year, we don’t have to re-paint tiger bunny as well….Thanks!
