Our Website

Hello and Welcome to About Our Website…

Current Sub-Team: Michelle I., Laura B., Abigail W.

Mentor: Gary L., along with some help from Chris I.

___-2011 Website: This website was very hard for some to let go of. It was a very nice website although with the advances in technology it was felt that it was time for something new. All the information from that website though has been added to this current website.

Background: For years our website has been run by mainly one person with the help of others, not including its start which involved numerous people, but mainly the upkeep. This year was different though, three people were involved in the formation of this site and upkeep it allowing different ideas to flourish. Our past website was on Durpal.com it was a nice website, our team just needed something new.

Welcome To The Question and Answer for the 2012 FIRST Team 340 Greater Rochester Robotics (GRR) Website

Was HTML or CSS Involved? Yes, although we have a “theme”, it’s called Graphene, we have altered it to our needs and have also made some adjustments to our platform its self. Ex.) Our menu saves everything over so it was required to add the codes,

define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’96M’); and set_time_limit (300);

,into our wp-config.php.

How Are Your Members Informed/ How Do They Communicate? Our members our informed through our forums, and our team calendar. These allow the necessary information to be accessible to even those who were unable to attend meetings and still have an understanding what is going on.

Is Your Website Compatible With Other Systems? Yes. The only thing that may be a little different on certain computers may be the gradients on some of our headers along with the orange used. But our website is available on phones with internet.

I Want To Learn HTML, CSS, or XHTML. Can You Recommend How? You can’t learn HTML overnight, but www.w3schools.com is a very useful site to help aid in learning. Also, keep a journal and write down important concepts that you pick up on. Finally, practice. You will never discover what is possible if you never try it out.

Welcome FIRST® Team 340
