2012 Regional Chairman's Award

Operating out of Churchville-Chili Senior High School, we are a collection of students from
Rochester (NY) Area school districts including the High Schools of: Churchville-Chili, Wheatland-Chili, Aquinas, and Brockport. Although our team works 52 weeks a year on many different projects, each January through April we take part in the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®).

FIRST® is an organization that was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 and the first competition was held in 1992 in a New Hampshire High School gymnasium. Also known as For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, it was created to inspire students to work in the technology and engineering fields. Since its creation, FIRST® has made a positive impact in the lives of students and communities around the globe.

Game of 2012: Rebound Rumble

Photobucket

The Rebound Rumble™ robotics game is played between two Alliances of three teams each. Each Alliance competes by trying to score as many of the basketballs in the hoops as possible during the 2-minute and 15-second match. Balls scored in higher hoops score Alliances more points. Alliances are awarded bonus points if they are balanced on bridges at the end of the match. In matches where opponent Alliances work together to balance on the white bridge, all participating teams earn additional valuable seeding points.
