Team 424

Greater Rochester Robotics’ second competition team, 424 is still going strong. Team 424 is comprised of all the new members of GRR and serves as a training ground. Team 424 allows hands on experience for beginning members of GRR.

424 is essentially the Junior Varsity team, they are slightly less experienced but work with the Varsity team to get better. The only difference between this setup and most sports teams is that we will play against each other once in a while.

Last year, team 424 did very well. They were picked by a top seeded alliance and made it all the way to the semi-finals before being knocked out. They were also one of the few teams with a working, reliable, autonomous mode.

This is where our mentors are very important; Our 20+ mentors were able to split up between the two teams without dampening the amount of help either team receives because we work only 20 feet away from each other and are always willing to share.
